I have to admit, I would never have thought of, or even consider being in the cleaning business when I was a kid. I had grand plans to do something but no specific plans to do anything. I planned on being a big stockbroker on Wall Street, or own some prestigious company, but cleaning?
Not a chance, so how did I end up here? It’s evident to me now that the law of attraction was at work when I started my business, of course, I did not know it at the time. Before I started my business I was focused on making money, and I was willing to do whatever it took. Since I had no other legitimate source of income and no real plan for anything else, what I was doing expanded and attracted more of the same.
I’m sure you’ve heard of the law of attraction but if you haven’t here’s the basic idea: we attract what we focus on, it’s not magic it’s just the brain looking for and finding what’s already there. Like when you decide you want a certain vehicle, all of the sudden you start seeing it everywhere. I was good at cleaning, I wanted money the rest naturally developed.
I can’t get into the entire subject of mind dynamics and attract what we want, but it’s a great subject to research on your own. So why am I still in the commercial cleaning business after 27 years? I honestly love it! By nature, I have a servants heart so it’s natural to be in a business that provides a service. I also love giving people opportunity. Maybe its the stay at home mom who just needs an extra $100 a week, or the entrepreneur wanting to start a business.
Cleaning is a required part of most any facility, do you want to work in a dirty building? Most people overlook the service we provide, we go unnoticed until something is missed. That’s OK, we do the same thing with electricity, right? We don’t think about it until it stops working.
Cleaning is a tough job and I have a great deal of respect for each person in our group. It’s a tough business too but with the right approach and mindset, it can be a great way to earn a living. I’ve looked into other careers and business opportunities, for me there’s been nothing else that’s a good fit.
I am looking forward to spending many years in the cleaning business and helping as many people as possible along the way.
